In 2013, there was a surge in media coverage about medicinal cannabis. There were reports from CBS, ABC, CBS, CBS and local publications that high-cannabidiol marijuana oil could effectively control the symptoms of rare epileptic disorders like Doose and Dravet, as well as infantile spasms, cortical Dysplasia and Doose. These diseases can cause hundreds to thousands of seizures a week, while also impairing development in a number of other ways. These conditions can be very difficult for children and their families. Due to the extremely complex nature of Dravet and related syndromes, traditional pharmaceuticals are ineffective and often make the problems worse. Families are turning to high-CBD cannabis oil as a last resort. It has shown remarkable efficacy and is providing hope for many families.
To clarify, high CBD cannabis oil isn’t psychoactive and seems to be more beneficial that high-THC cannabis oils. Cannabidiol (another cannabinoid from cannabis) is another. This cannabinoid, along with the psychoactive THC, has received significant research that suggests neuroprotective, anticancer, anti-ischemic and antispasmodic, as well as antipsychotic and antibacterial properties. Cannabis oil is also a form of cannabis extract. Concentrated cannabinoids can be consumed orally rather than smoked. This preserves medicinal compounds and allows them more easily to reach the digestive system than the respiratory system.
CBD appears to have panacea-like effects, according to research. Sanjay Gupta, a CNN journalist, released a documentary about Charlotte Figi. Charlotte was a Dravet syndrome young patient. She had 300 grand mal seizures per week. These seizures were so severe that no medication or diet changes could be made to lower them. Charlotte’s seizures disappeared after Charlotte’s parents found out about high-CBD cannabis oils. Charlotte now has fewer than three minor seizures per month. This is a remarkable case, and it’s not an isolated one. Dr. Margaret Gedde of Colorado Springs is monitoring 11 new clients of the Stanely Brothers, who provide Charlotte’s high CBD medicine. 9 of them have had 90-100% reductions in seizures, which again, is simply miraculous.
CBD is being used to treat epileptic syndromes that are complex and have not been treated with any pharmaceuticals. High-CBD cannabis oil can reduce symptoms immediately. The only side effects are systemic benefits such as more energy, better learning and improved behavior.
It is not surprising that these results have been documented for many years. Similar to how cannabinoids have been shown to be therapeutically effective against epilepsy there are also studies that suggest they can control cancers. These results have been translated into practice for epilepsy as well as other conditions. People have been reliably eliminating cancers for years and mitigating diseases like diabetes, Crohn’s, fibromyalgia, heart disease, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, and more. This is the most serious problem we face and must be given more attention.
