I am thrilled that my publisher formatted the first two novels in the Child Finder Trilogy in the Kindle format and that they are now available on Amazon for the standard price of $9.99.
Here are the links…I hope you Kindle lovers get a chance to download and enjoy the stories:
The very prestigious writers’ website, FiledBy, has named Mike Angley one of its Featured Authors! I am truly honored by this distinction, especially because I was selected from among the 3 million authors who belong to the site. Thank you, FiledBy, Inc.!
I just received another wonderful review of my second novel, Child Finder: Resurrection! Joyce Gilmour, Copy Editor at Editing TLC, provided the following kind words…thanks Joyce!
“Child Finder Resurrection is Colonel Michael Angley’s (USAF retired) sequel to his book Child Finder. We meet the main character, Air Force Special Agent Patrick O’Donnell a year and a half after he left the Top Secret child rescue program when events went horribly awry and his family was endangered. Mike Angley brings much experience in criminal investigation and counterintelligence to his writing, which makes the storyline so real, but also so fascinating.
Patrick O’Donnell is a psychic and in Child Finder Resurrection, he is called back into the Top Secret community to help the government track down a very sick and twisted child killer. Patrick’s son, Sean, who also has psychic abilities that come into play in a big way, proves to be a source of help to his father. It is interesting how the author lets the reader see things that the characters don’t see, which makes the reader want to shout “Watch out/Beware!” a number of times during this thriller. The real twist in this story, I believe, is the fact that this murderer is a psychotic genius. The mind games that go on are ones that you don’t want to read if you are alone late at night! This book can and will send chills down your spine.
Colonel Angley is proving himself to be a fantastic writer of mystery thrillers. He promises that the last book in the series, Child Finder: Revelation will be “nonstop action and peril.” Readers will want to read all of the books in this series if they find enjoyment in great thrillers.”
I had the opportunity to appear as a guest on the Coffee with a Canine website, a unique blog that features people and their dogs, with an emphasis on special occasions where the pets join their owners as they enjoy a cup of hot coffee.
My dog Brynn is a two-year-old American Beagle…full of energy, mischief, and love. She’s a great pet, and has had some hijinks under her belt already (you have to read the story about her encounter with a rather large buck).
Please visit Coffee with a Canine and check out the great story of my dog, Brynn!
On December 15, 2009 I was invited to appear as a guest on Paul Ibbetson’s Conscience of Kansas radio program, broadcast on Kansas Stat University’s FM Radio station, Wildcat 91.9. This was a great honor for me because Paul is an accomplished and respected radio host, having interviewed the likes of people such as Tony Blankley, Rick Santorum, Jed Babbin, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio, among others. If you go to the podomatic link, my interview starts around the 30 minute point, but I do encourage you to listen to the entire program.
Here’s more information about Paul, and I recommend you visit his website for some great articles and archived interviews: Paul A. Ibbetson.
Paul A. Ibbetsonis a published author and lecturer on the Patriot Act. He is a former Chief of Police of Cherryvale, Kansas, and member of the Montgomery County Drug Task Force. Paul received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Criminal Justice at Wichita State University, and is currently completing his PhD. in Sociology at Kansas State University. I was honored to appear as a guest on MoJoe’s Talk Radio Portal program on December 6, 2009. We discussed my second book’s release — Child Finder: Resurrection, as well as the first novel, Child Finder. Hint: I gave him some insight into the third story in the trilogy, Child Finder: Revelation. I told him that I literally get goose bumps when I write the story because the things I plan to “reveal” in the novel are simply mind-blowing!
Please give MoJoe’s program a listen. My segment comes up at about the 30 minute point, so you may have to listen a bit before hearing me!
I am “thrilled” (pun intended) that the International Thriller Writers (ITW) featured me in its December 2009 webzine, “The Big Thrill!” I appear in the new releases section of this prestigious professional webzine. Here’s an excerpt:
“In Mike Angley’s second offering, Child Finder: Resurrection, it has been a year and a half since Air Force Special Agent Patrick O’Donnell left the secret child rescue program after it went horribly off-track, resulting in murder and endangering his own family. And just when he thinks he’s comfortably put this painful past behind him, he receives a call from his mentor. The murky, shadowy Top Secret community where he once was center-stage has been revised, revamped, resurrected!”
Be sure to check out the entire article, as well as the other new releases by my thriller writer colleagues.
I am very honored that my Alma Mater, King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania), profiled me in a full page spread in its Fall 2009 alumni magazine, Pride. It’s on page 29 if the link does not automatically take you to it. Here’s an excerpt of what they had to say:
Mike Angley ’81 admits that before he entered King’s, he developed two passions that he has been fortunate to realize, careers in investigation and, more recently, as a published and award-winning fiction writer. As a student at Wyoming Valley West High School, located only a mile from the King’s campus, Mike developed a life plan that would involve him working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and publishing a novel. While in his final year of study toward earning his degree in criminal justice and psychology, Mike learned that he would not be able to go directly from King’s into the FBI.
“Unless you earned either a law or accounting degree, you needed professional investigative experience before the FBI would consider you,” Angley said recently.
Mike was able to complete the Air Force ROTC program while at King’s. He was able to use that experience as what he thought would be a means to an end, joining the Air Force as a second lieutenant and possibly earning the practical experience required by the FBI in the Office of Special Investigations (OSI).
I’m pleased to announce I will be hosting a webinar on careers in the federal law enforcement community on behalf of Henley-Putnam University where I serve as a consultant and faculty member. The announcement for the webinar was dispatched via press release by the university, and picked up by Defense Procurement News. The webinar is open to the public, so I encourage everyone to consider attending. The details can be found here: Webinar Registration Site.
I recently received the link to the mini-interview I conducted when I attended the Oct 9 – 10 2009 Military Writers Society of America’s (MWSA) annual convention in Orlando, Florida. I was interviewed by Bob Calvert, host of the Talking With Heroes talk show program, a nice benefit the MWSA arranged for all award winners.
Here it is — please note there are a couple of minutes of lead/intro time at the beginning of the video, and my actual interview starts at about the 2:14 point, and goes for about six minutes. You may want to skip right to the beginning of the actual interview to save some time. I hope you enjoy it!
